What to Feed Kids at your Wedding
If you’ve ever been around a child, you know that some of them can be quite picky when it comes to eating food. Naturally, they probably won’t want to digest that delicious duck confit or the Maine lobster that you’ll be offering at your reception. What’s the best option in this case?
Regardless of whether you’re having a sit-down dinner or a buffet dinner, set up a small table with delicious food for the kiddies and have someone you know cook the food or you can do it yourself. They’ll be happy and their parents will thank you for getting them to eat SOMETHING.
French Fries

French fries are a favorite of kids all over. Stick with the traditional potato or try out sweet potatoes. It’s a healthier option and kids love the slightly sweet flavor. To prevent messes, check out your local craft store for inexpensive take-out boxes to put the fries in.
Grilled Cheese

A gooey crunchy favorite, kids simply adore grilled cheese sandwiches. These are quick and easy to make and you can create a few at once. Wrap it up in parchment paper or put it on unbreakable plates for them to easily grab and bring back to their table with mom and dad.
Mini Pizzas

What kid doesn’t love pizza? Once they see these, their eyes will light up immediately. Get a decent amount of pizza dough and make pizzas four or five inches in diameter. Place them on baking trays with simple ingredients like cheese and basil with pieces of pepperoni. Once done, cut them in half and put them in a container for the kids to take.
Sliders

Sliders are the perfect kid food. They’re bite-sized and leave less mess because of it, and these are extremely easy to make. Take hamburger meat and a cookie cutter ring. Cut out pieces of hamburger with the cookie cutter and cut the same size out from hamburger buns. Cook the meat accordingly and dress it up with lettuce and tomato. Allow the kids (or their parents!) to put the condiments they want on the burger. Offer three per child.
Drinks

Soda is an option, but a healthier route is to offer delicious fruit juices. Find bottles like these and fill them up with lemonade or maybe you have a delectable punch recipe; anything works! Top it off with cute paper straws and the kids will love it.
These fun and easy foods will not only make the kids at your wedding happy but your budget, as well. What bride and groom want to pay a full entree price for a kid(s) when they will probably look at it in disgust? If you or a family member or friend don’t have time to make these kid meals before the wedding, you can always ask your venue or caterer if they offer kids meals. These types of meals should be smaller in proportion, as well as in price!
