Wedding Centerpieces – After The Big Day

I was hired as the filmmaker for a wedding, where the bride went above and beyond the call of do-it-yours or ”DIY.”  She certainly surprised us and I’m sure the guests were equally amazed.

The canary yellow flower centerpieces were silk and the inexpensive embellishments were bought at the local craft store.  After time, effort, and little money spent, the centerpieces looked to be something one would find in a floral boutique.

Unfortunately, after the wedding, couples like this struggle over what to do with their DIY centerpieces.  This particular bride came up with the clever idea of calling us and asking if we would simply take them off of her hands, to let one of our future clients use them for their own wedding.  Within two months, another couple found them to be perfect for their day and used them as their centerpieces.

There are many ways to save on wedding costs, such as utilizing items that brides have used in previous weddings.  Ask your vendors if they have any items from previous weddings that they’ve worked on.  Check out websites like Recycled Bride, which is a marketplace where brides-to-be can to pick up gently used items for their wedding.  They can then re-sell the items after the wedding, whether it’s their wedding dress or their centerpieces!

These wedding planning tips were provided by Joe Testa from Got Videographer.  He is a 20+ year veteran in the wedding photography, videography, and filmmaking arena.  He provides exceptional and affordable services for each couple and ensures that he will capture those priceless moments whether it’s through film or video.

Very nice idea, to make the centerpieces from silk. Much greener, reusable and breathtaking as well!
