Urban Outfitters To Offer Wedding Dresses, Accessories And More

If you read my blog, Retail and Department Stores for your Wedding Dress then you know that many retail and department stores have entered into the wedding business.   Many of these stores have become popular for their gift registry, however, quite a few also carry wedding gowns and dresses.  It is a nice alternative to buying your dress online or paying the extremely marked up prices at your local bridal shop.

Well, I just heard that one of my favorite retail stores is also joining the wedding business…Urban Outfitters, Inc.  Yes, that’s right, UO, is launching a new bridal line which will include heirloom gowns, accessories, intimate apparel, decor and gifts.

The bridal line will be available exclusively online at first, but in stores to follow.  UO already provides its shoppers with unique accessories, shoes and clothing trends so I’m anxious to see what their bridal line will look like.  The only problem is, we have to wait a whole year.  The bridal line will not be launched until next year, Valentine’s Day 2011, but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.  Keep an eye out!

I just had to comment. I ended up getting my wedding dress from House of Brides but when it came time to look for bridesmaid dresses I started looking online at retail stores. I went to Target.com and found clearance black dresses in different styles the girls would like. I ended up finding a halter for 13.48 and a strapless style for 33.48. I bought 11 yards of red ribbon to make the sashes for $5 with a coupon for Micheals. Since the girls are paying for the dresses themselves they couldn’t be more thrilled with the prices. I even found some invitations I’m going to personalize for 7.50 at Target and that includes 50 invites and RSVP cards and all the envelopes. Retail is definitly the way to go if you are on a budget!

    • Thank you so much for the great tips, Lindsay! I actually wrote a blog about House of Brides a while back, as they are an affiliate of ours http://bit.ly/a2PreU.

I never thought to look online at Target for dresses, but I’ve found some great items in their dollar section to use as favors and centerpieces.

Michael’s can become your best friend while planning your wedding, and the coupons always help. I know that they also carry really nice do-it-yourself wedding invitation kits http://bit.ly/bNq7Ao.
