Save On Your Wedding Dress Shopping

When looking for a wedding gown, most brides automatically head to the bridal boutiques and shops.  Although most carry some gorgeous gowns, they aren’t always as nice to your wedding budget.

Here are some ways that you can still find the dress of your dreams, while not paying top dollar:

  • Check department stores such as MacysNordstrom, or Lord & Taylor.  All have a wedding shop where you can find a variety of styles and brands at a range of different prices.
  • Look outside of the marketed “wedding dresses and gowns”.  Many times you can find a white prom dress or bridesmaids dress that is just as elegant for much less.
  • Keep it in the family.  Find out if your mother or grandmother still have their dress.  It may need cleaning, alterations and/or even some minor changes/fixes, however, it will save you hundreds of dollars while honoring the special women in your life.
  • Don’t pass by the classified websites such as Ebay, Craigslist and Project Wedding.  Many times there are ads for brand new dresses for half the price, from brides who called off their wedding or decided on another dress.
  • Don’t be afraid to go pre-owned.  Most brides take great care of their wedding dress and only wear it for a few hours.  Again, once cleaned it could look as good as new.  Used dresses can be found on sites such as PreOwnedWeddingDresses and Recycled Bride
  • If you’re set on going to the bridal boutique, ask if they have any returned or sample dresses available that you can purchase for a discounted price.
