Retail and Department Stores for your Wedding Dress

Of course you want to find that perfect wedding dress, but that dress can look not so perfect pretty quickly after seeing the price.  If you want to avoid the marked up prices at your  local bridal shop, and you don’t feel comfortable buying your wedding dress online, there is still another option!

Recently, many retailers and department stores such as Dillard’s and JC Penney, have entered into the wedding business.  Many of these stores have become popular for their gift registry, however, quite a few also carry wedding gowns and dresses as well.

DressThis Betsy & Adam strapless satin ivory gown, features a brooch accent on the rouched empire waistband, with a full skirt and a back zipper. It is made of polyester and is fully lined; found at Dillard’s for only $150!  Now that is a cheap wedding dress, but still very elegant and beautiful.

This dress would be perfect for an afternoon or destination wedding.  If you are looking for a dress that has more detail and/or is more extravagant, you can always hire an experienced seamstress to add crystals, beading or lace.  That way you can customize the dress to your liking, while still paying hundreds of dollars less than you would at a bridal shop.  The seamstress may also be able to add a train, or make a matching veil.

Once you have decided on your dress, check out the same retailers and department stores for your bridesmaids dresses too.  I am sure your bridal party would appreciate the savings, as well!
