Avoid luxury items at your reception such as ice sculptures, martini bars, specialty coffee stations and dessert stations.  These items can hurt your wedding budget, by adding hundreds of dollars on to your final bill.

    I agree with this completely. Expensive centerpieces, Chair covers, veggie plates,
    etc. There are lots of places to save and still have a great time.

      Thanks for the comment, Steve. I think it all depends on where you live. For example, I live in New Jersey and many venues and vendors offer discounts during July and August, as many couples avoid getting married those months because it can be SO hot.
