Inexpensive Wedding Invitation Kits
by Nicole Onofrio on August 11, 2009
Your invitation is usually the first glimpse of your wedding day, that your guests will see. So, it is important that they are nice but there’s no reason to spend a fortune on them. In reality, once your guests open their wedding invitation it will then get thrown in a drawer, put in a day planner or hung up on the frig that will eventually get covered by other miscellaneous paper. Instead of going to your local stationary store or bridal boutique and ordering outrageously priced invitations, why not do it yourself. As long as you, or someone you know, owns an inkjet or laser printer (the laser printers tend to provide better results) that’s all you need for your beautiful but cheap invitations! Well, actually, you still need to go out and buy the wedding invitation kit. Many stores such as AC Moore, Michaels, Target, Staples and even Walmart typically carry these kits. The kits include blank invitations, response cards and envelopes for both. Some kits include additional items such as ribbons, tissue paper, stickers to seal your envelopes, wording samples or printing test sheets. The kits come in a variety of paper colors, sizes and designs. A kit containing a count of 50 costs an average of $30. Once you have purchased your kit, just follow the provided instructions on how to set up your template and print out the invitations. It’s fun, easy and affordable! Tip: If you do not have a printer, or you are having trouble printing out the invitations, save the text on a CD or jump drive and bring it to your local print shop. A printing center such as Sir Speedy or Kinko’s can print them out for you at an inexpensive price.
