Don’t Forget About Your Groomsmen, Negotiate Tux Rental Costs

 When planning your wedding, selecting the tuxes may seem like such a minuet item on your list, but don’t forget to negotiate the cost.

Most tux rental shops will work any deal to get your business, especially if you have a large wedding party.  Ask them to through in the groom’s tux for free, or even a tux for each father.  If you need five or more tuxes, they may take 15-20% off each groomsmen’s tux.   Some places may even through in the shoes for free.

For example, for my wedding, my husband and I needed to reserve 17 tuxes.  Yes, you read correctly.  We needed 17 tuxes: (10) groomsmen, (2) ushers, (2) junior ushers, (2) fathers and the groom.  We were able to get the groom’s tux for free, 50% off each tux for the fathers, 15% off for each groomsmen, and all of the shoes for free. 

Although it may not save you a ton of money, it can’t hurt to ask.  In fact, the money for the tuxes may not even be coming directly out of your pocket, but your wedding party will surely appreciate the savings!
