Custom Wedding Postage – Make your Invitations Perfect
Hello, my name is Annie Slentz of Perfect Postage.com and I am today’s guest blogger.
You’ve spent hours pouring over wedding invitation samples, selecting exactly the right color, paper and embellishments that fit your style. Your envelopes are exactly the right shade of ivory. The calligraphy font that you selected sets the perfect tone and looks fantastic.
You ask your fiance to pick up some stamps. He tosses the sheets of liberty bell stamps on the counter and smiles so proud. He has accomplished his task. You look at the liberty bell stamps. You look at your invitations. You go on line.
The good news is that you have a lot of choices. While the USPS does offer a few choices for wedding stamps, you can now choose from thousands of wedding stamp designs or even create your own custom postage.
There are several companies who have contracted with the USPS to purchase custom postage: PhotoStamps, pictureitpostage.com and zazzle.com. The supplier with the most designs, variety and the largest stamp size is Zazzle.
Zazzle’s custom postage is available in 3 different sizes: small, medium and large. The small size works perfectly for RSVP envelopes. The medium size postage (2.1” x 1.3”) works well for most invitations. If you want to go really big, the large size is 2.5 inches by 1.5 inches. It does take up quite a bit of room so make sure your envelopes are large enough to handle the size.
The stamps currently come in eight different values: 28 cents, 44 cents, 61 cents, 64, cents, 78 cents, 95 cents, $1.39 and $4.95. The USPS is currently considering raising postage rates in January of 2011. If that occurs, the new values will be available prior to the rate increase.
Of course, custom postage does cost more than regular stamps you would purchase at the Post Office. Generally, one sheet of 20 first class stamps (.44 cents) cost around $22.00. Because the price may be out of reach for some brides with a large invitation list, they may just purchase one or two sheets for their close family and wedding party and as keepsakes for their bridal books.
(For a limited time, custom postage will be on sale starting July 12, 2010.)
It does take about a week to 10 days to print and ship your stamps. You’ll want to make sure and order early so you have plenty of time to get your stamps before you need to mail your invitations.
So, get started now browsing the wonderful custom postage designs. After all of the time that you’ve invested in making your invitations perfect, why not find the perfect postage stamp to match.
At perfectpostage.com, brides and wedding planners can browse thousands of wedding stamps designs – from save the date, rsvp, invitation, thank you and more. Perfect Postage works directly with brides and wedding planners to create unique and customized postage for brides.
