Check the Church to Cut Cost on Wedding Decor

CrossIf you are getting married in a church, this is a great tip for you!

Many churches work with their local florist to have fresh flower arrangements delivered every Friday or Saturday, so that the alter and/or lobbies look nice for Saturday night and/or Sunday morning services.  Talk to your Priest or Pastor, and see if there is a delivery (or will be a delivery) scheduled close to your wedding date.  If so, there may be no need for additional decor.

If the church doesn’t have regular scheduled floral deliveries, than they may have other means of decorations already in place such as silk or dried floral arrangements, wreaths, or potted plants.  If the church does have one or all of these types of permanent fixtures, then ask your Priest or Pastor if they change them with the seasons (you don’t want to have a red, orange and yellow arrangement with pine cones or corn husks if you are getting married in June!).

The church may also have stored away decorations that have been left there from previous weddings such as an isle runner, pew hangers, bows, tulle, or candles that they may be willing to let you use.

As you can see talking to your Priest, Pastor, church Secretary or Coordinator may save you some money on your wedding decor so don’t be afraid to ask!
