It’s safe to say that men probably have it easiest when it comes to wedding accessories, especially with neckwear, as there are only three main types.  Below we discuss each type, their uses and the ideal events to wear them.  Plus, our favorite affordable picks!

1. Bow Tie

The bow tie is considered the most formal piece of neckwear.  It can be seen at very formal weddings, along with evening weddings.  If you’re wearing a tuxedo, make sure to pair it with a bow tie.

The tie shown above can be found at Fine Tuxedos for UNDER $20!

2. Classic Tie

Also known as the “four-in-hand”, this tie has increased in popularity over the years.  While it can be used for formal weddings, it is more appropriate at semi-formal or casual events.

The tie shown above can be found at JoS. A. Bank, in multiple colors, for UNDER $70!

3. Ascot
