At-Home Bachelorette Parties: Our Top 3 Picks

by Jehnel on February 1, 2012

It’s not a bachelorette party without the mandatory “Bride” sash, the tiara, and doing a list of random things that your closest gal pals set up for you; but we think that fun can be easily (and affordably) achieved without club hopping and other crazy shenanigans.

Consider having a memorable night in, with your nearest and dearest.  It can save you a ton of money, while bringing more priceless memories with your friends than painting the town red.

1. Sleep Over

No one, we repeat, no one is too old for sleepovers with their friends.  Break out the sugar-laden snacks, the baking recipes and accessories, and all the chick flicks in the world.  Gab, gossip, and giggle like you used to when the only worries in the world were papers and 4th period.

This might sound expensive, but we pinky promise it’s not.  Simply ask your guests to bring their favorite nail polish color and a comfy robe.  Once they get to your house, have some flip flops ($1 flip flops, anyone?) handy and assemble a “team” of pamperers.  This can be moms, grandmothers, aunts; basically anyone who can successfully paint a nail without making it look like a Jackson Pollock painting.  Serve up some adorable little appetizers and refreshing drinks, put some relaxing music on, dish out cucumber slices for everyone’s eyes, and light fresh-smelling candles.  The spa vibe should be coming through in no time.

3. Formal Dinner

Tell all of your guests to get dressed up to the nines.  Visit your local dollar store and purchase some inexpensive pillar candles and stands.  Browse around to see what decor they have for your desired centerpiece.  Pick out a simple and affordable three-course meal complete with appetizer, entree, and dessert.  If you want to wow them even more, go ahead and find a recipe for a signature cocktail.  Even though you may not be able to afford to bring everyone to that fancy restaurant, bring it to your house and make all of your friends feel like big spenders.
