Share transportation to save your wedding budget!

There are many different options for you, your husband-to-be and your wedding party to get to the ceremony.  There are trolleys, horse carriages, old fashion cars, but the most popular is by limo. 

There is an amazing selection of limos available these days ranging from the traditional Lincoln, to the stretch Hummer, to the limo bus.  Although it is nice to arrive in style, it can get very pricey as most companies charge per the hour with a 4 or 5 hour minimum.  If a traditional Lincoln limo cost $85 an hour and there is a 4 hour minimum, once you add in tax, gratuity and miscellaneous fees, you are looking at a total between $400-500. 

A great affordable wedding tip, for those planning a wedding on a budget, is to share the limo.  Typically the groom and the groomsmen arrive at the ceremony earlier than you and your bridesmaids, to get situated in their spots and to help seat your guests.  Once the limo drops the guys off, have the same driver come pick up you and your bridal party.  If you are paying for the limo, for 4 hours, why not put the driver to work, verses having them sit in the parking lot waiting for the ceremony to be over.

After the ceremony, have your entire wedding party, guys and girls, get into the same limo.  Just make sure that your limo can accommodate the entire wedding party.  If necessary, get a super stretch limo or a limo bus.  It may cost more hourly but you will still save hundreds of dollars in the long run, by only using one vehicle.

By the time you take pictures and get to your reception, the 4 hours will be coming to an end.   After the reception, arrange for a family member or friend to take you home or to your next destination!
